FEMA: Violating the Bill of Rights

A phoenix search and rescue team brought in armed police officers to help protect the firefighters rescue team and their equipment. The idea that FEMA has a rule against rescue organizations carrying firearms is ASININE. Especially when it is applied to POLICE OFFICERS!

Somebody please tell me what-dumb-A##-came up with this rule? Maybe the acting head of FEMA David Paulison, a former fire fighter will be able to make some quick and meaningful changes here.

If utility workers and firemen in large cities operate in certain areas with police escort, why should these rescue workers be denied the same courtesy?
